I still don't have the time to put any serious effort into it, but with the release of wildisle and oil empires and avatarwars looking as though it might finally see the light of day, I figured I should at least get the bare bones level of integration done.

Long term it would be great if itch were a cross between break.com, miniclip, and myspace centered around online gaming relationships and grudges

That's the long-term pie in the sky plan ... shorter term plan is to just get rid of all the baby-blue images and stylesheet settings ... one step at a time ...

That was something I found in Nates own blog that he posted back in Febuary of 2007.

Now 2 years later. AvatarWars is gone. Its been replaces by other games. We have seen even more games come and go. WI and OE are still here. (WI put on the back burner waiting for the fire to be lite under it again).

And so I ask. For the long term members of itch. Do you like how the site has developed. Do you think Nate should start to try and implement some of the things that myspace/break/miniclip has? Do you think this site should turn into more of a kongregate kinda website. Or do you think it should just stay as is, a portal more or less for past, present, and future itch.com owned games.

Or for you new guys what do you think Nate should do with this site? The game design is flawed- it's like this: put a pile of rocks on the ground, a limited number. Bring in an unlimited number of players. Each person can pick up as many rocks as they already have in their hand- if they have none, they can pick up one. For example, if I have 10 rocks I can pick up another 10. If I only have 2, I can only pick up 2. Also, you can steal a rock from someone else, but you only have a chance to do so, that chance is a proportion of their rocks to your rocks- for example, if I have 100 rocks already, and someone else has 10, they have a 10% chance of getting from me, but I have a 900% chance of getting from them.

What this leads to is a 'snowball effect', where the person who can get just a few rocks ahead will be unstoppable- they accelerate their power growth just by dint of their power, which is growing faster because they're bigger, etc etc. Also, that same power protects them totally from attack by others, and at the same time makes them into very effective bullies.

In SNODS the disparity is clear- the top guy has 10,000 guards, while newbies have less than 100. Because of his guards, he's untouchable, and can grab other players captives with impunity. Those captives then garner him more money, which means he can have more guards, which will mean more impunity. There is literally no means to slow or stop him.

Now add in the rampant cheating that's going on with multi-accounting, and you've got a disaster. It's pretty clear what's going on when you get a captive stolen, you 'recapture', then one minute later the same captive is stolen again by another account. If you manage a second recapture, a third account will pop on and there you go again.

I find it most odd that SNODS has 'Itch.com' written all over it, yet it's not mentioned on the Itch site at all. The funniest thing, I guess, is that if you follow the link to the Twitter account for the game writer, the last tweet you see is the game sending him a direct message that he's about to go inactive, because he hasn't logged in for a week. That's rich.

When even the writer thinks it's bad, it's BAAD.

Armed guards on all entry points, and all viechles and passengers checked for firearms and bombs.

4 guards in tower control with cctv access watching the perimiters

attack dogs patrol the facility

8ft high fence with barbed wire

all hangers also had armed guards, even if you cant see them on entry, trust me they are there.
