I expect the move to take about 5 hours.<br /><br />The new site will be at <a href="http://racekingsgame.com" target="_blank">http://racekingsgame.com</a> ... because for some reason, someone owns racekings.com and points it to an online casino.  Doh!<br /><br />The RK site will show some text and a link to the new site when the move starts.<br /><br />Don't expect any actual gameplay changes on day 1 - simply trying to get the site up and running on the new server!]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[At 3PM EST on 4/15/2009 we'll be opening up a new RK Server that has a FULL reset every month.  It'll be called the RK Tournament Server.  <br /><br />Tournament server rounds will start on the 15th of every month and end on the 14th of the following month.<br /><br />Nate and I are still working out the details of how the server will work, but I just thought I'd post this a quick heads up.<br /><br />Important: This is IN ADDITION TO the current server - this is NOT replacing the current server.]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[Thanks to everyone for all the feedback regarding a full reset.  We wanted to go ahead and put minds at ease and let everyone know that a full reset of the existing server will not take place.  <br /><br />We still think that the round based format has a lot to offer in terms of keeping the game fresh and allowing for more drastic changes and experimentation, so we are considering the possibility of introducing a second server that is round based.  <br /><br />We will be rolling out a survey tomorrow to gauge opinions on possible changes to the existing server and opinions about having a new server.]]></description>

		<title>Race Kings Full Reset December 5th</title>

		<description><![CDATA[We appreciate the continued feedback we've gotten on RK over its first year on itch.  Part of the fun of playing online text strategy games is having them change over time, but it has been more difficult to change RK as we haven't done any resets up until this point.<br /><br />We've got changes we'd like to make, and we don't want to be limited by fitting them into the existing RK system and meshing them with the way the game currently works.  <br /><br />So, we'll be closing RK down from Dec 1st to Dec 5th and doing a complete wipe of the database.  All players will begin RK on even footing come Dec 5th.  Active Memberships and unused game credits will carry over.<br /><br />In addition, we'll be planning on doing this full reset approximately every 6 months from now on to allow the game to evolve while still giving players a while to build up.<br /><br />We haven't decided on all of the changes we're making, and we probably won't decide on all of them until the end of November.  We will certainly check out the feedback forum during that time, but do not expect definite responses from Nate nor myself about whether a change will go in, because we won't be making the definite decisions in the immediate future.]]></description>

The quantity of these cars will be limited, and when the dealership runs out of these cars nobody will be able to buy them.  New shipments will come in sporadically (but unannounced).  Just because a car is in the dealership once doesn't mean it will be in the dealership again, but some of the cars will make 'return appearances'.<br /><br />As was the case before, you can only buy a stock car if it's not already in your garage.]]></description>

		<title>RK Custom Cars 1.0</title>

		<description><![CDATA[You can now build your own custom car.<br /><br />Start by entering the year/make/model and uploading a pic of the car.  Next, you'll allocate 50 'starter points' to the car...with up to 40 on one particular attribute.<br /><br />Now you've got the base of your car and you can begin buying Suspensions, Tires, Brakes, and Transmissions.  For each part type you can choose different versions.<br /><br />Finally, you can use your 'auto shop' to upgrade a part once it's in your car.  Upgrading a part amplifies all of its attributes - so if a tire is great at rally but poor at drag, upgrading the tires will make them even better at rally and even worse at drag.  Upgrading a part takes 3 hours to raise it one level.  The max level is 10 and the upgrade cost increases at each level.<br /><br />A few key notes:<br /> 1.  Custom cars can be stolen like any other car.<br /> 2.  If you are not the original creator of a car, you cannot edit its picture, name, make, model or year<br /> 3.  Members can make a new custom car every 10 hours, nonmembers 1 every 20<br /> 4.  The intention is for the best custom cars to be much better than the best cars that you can buy at the dealership.  Depending on how things pan out, we may change some of the values on the upgrades to make sure that happens.<br /> 5.  We have plans to revamp the attack system.  This will include methods to improve the protection on your custom cars.  No ETA on when this will happen.<br />]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[Race Kings will launch this evening at approximately 5PM USA Eastern Standard Time.<br /><br />If you played the original version, the gameplay has been changed.  The most significant change being that the game is no longer a round-based game that will be reset.  There are many stats that will be reset monthly and all stats and leaderboards will be based on monthly performance.  <br /><br />The interface has undergone a significant redesign and the integration with itch was also pretty substantial.  <br /><br />So, there are undoubtedly going to be small speed bumps as we get the gme launched.  2bad4u will be around to hopefully smooth things out quickly.
