Yes, castle's twist on the idea is perfect, IMO.

What would happen if you Won a Worker Pack, but your only village was maxed out on workers? Would you loose it? Get another spin?

This is all very interesting - much potential in keeping, or increasing involvement of the new/casual player.

Something else to consider . . .

In another game I played (for only a week), a player earned a bonus if there were at least 10 hours in between logins, and a slightly larger bonus if there were at least 20 hours in between.

If implemented in KoB, this could take form in an extra lamp, or CF hour, 10% morale-rate increase for 2 hours, whatever. Of course the length of time in between logins could be whatever was thought best.

The point is: offer some mild help to the more casual, or beginning, player - help them make up (a bit) for their lost time. Or even think of it as an incentive to not be constantly active, kicking everybody's butt at all hours of the day. smile.gif

This idea was the best idea reguarding specials in the forums yet we are going to end up with some crappy version where the rich WILL just get RICHER.

Specials market was a terrible idea and hopefully we wont have to live with it very long.

this is like what they do on evony, its a great system... cept like was said, winning specials could be sent on to multi accounts... but think it would still be a great idea.

2nd this, specials market is terrible idea. Worst KOB round ever was KOBX when specials market allowed players to buy and use unlimited amount of specials. I understand this is not direct cash for specials market like that was, but this will still put way to much specials power in the hands of the best players.

With the specials market what is stopping people from having multis? You start a multi, run his lamp lotteries sell his specials on the market to yourself for a low price and run the lamps to make yourself better.

When I played OE it was easy to get GC from a realm mate. You post the lowest bid possible and they take your bid. Nothing is going to be different with this market.

a quick fix for this xs is maybe specials bought from the market cannot be transfered to a player that is ranked 50 ranks above you...(specials won would have no limits) this would make having a multi a pain in the ass to send specials up...

Unless you had two multis... or two people who knew about the multi... an even better fix, would be for the administration to monitor and band players who have multiple accounts.

I personally wanted to get something a little different then a specials market going. We will try this though and see how it goes.

I wanted to see a market where you had an in game currency like game credits in Oil Empires. You could only sell GC if you purchased them with your own money. Then you could use these game credits to get membership or buy something not like specials but diplomacy points. This works better if you have a more advanced diplomacy system set up which we will not. What we are getting will be fairly basic. I was thinking with a system like this strong players could gain advantage in diplomacy in a strong realm if they spend some money. That money that they would be spending would likely go to players in a weaker realm though as they get more diplomacy points. With these points they could manage to get themselves membership. This is what I was thinking any way. It would really all depend on if we made Diplomacy points worthwhile enough to make people want to spend money to buy them off of people.

More members and a way to get membership virtually for free other people paying your way is how I think we could really get people coming in to this game. I think if Diplomacy works and if we start expanding it and give points to royals and dignitaries this system could be used as a real tool to bring the player base up. You need to make it fun exciting and a tool to increase the strategy/choices of players in the game.

Good thought castle. Diplomacy is really an idea with a lot of potential to grow, and I LOVE the idea of being able to buy a membership with game credits of some sort (they were called KOB points when we had them in X, but they were never tradeable in game).
